2013 FILM FESTIVAL SUMITRA AND RAVINDRA AT VENICE

Mrs. Sumitra Peries, Chairman of The Film Team and celebrated actor Mr. Ravindra Randeniya and Director of the Lester James Peries and Sumitra Peries Foundation Mr. Manabarana Sameera Randeniya flew to Venice on 29 August morning to the Venice International Film Festival to be present at the special screening of the specially restored version of Dr. Lester James Peries’ (1972) movie classic ‘Nidhanaya’ this weekend. Coincidentally, 41 years ago in 1972, ‘Nidhanaya’ truimphed at the same Venice International Film Festival by winning the Silver Lion of St. Mark.
