The case pertaining to Former Chief Justice  Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake convened at the  Colombo Magistrate's Court today
Former Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake was present at the Colombo Magistrate's Court for the hearing of the case pertaining to three accounts and her failure to declare assets.
President's Counsel Nalin Laduwahetty said that over one hundred lawyers are representing the Former Chief Justice in the case.
President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, Attorney-at-Law Upul Jayasuriya
said that his organisation too is representing Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake in the case.
Submitting facts on behalf of the complainant, Senior Lawyer, Dilan Ratnayake said that since computer evidence is to be presented today, the charges pertaining to the Former Chief justice will not be announced today.
Attorney-at-Law Nalin Laduwahetty said that as Dr. Shirani Bandaranaike has been banned from travelling overseas by the Bribery Commission, his client will not leave the country without informing court.
Taking the facts into consideration, Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya postponed the case to February 19 next year.
