Election campaign activities of all political parties contesting the forth coming provincial council polls in Sri Lanka on Saturday will cease by midnight Wednesday (18).
Main political parties have organized their final election propaganda rallies in various places in the 3 provinces.
The ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) will hold its final election rally in Kandy in the Central Province, Wednesday under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The main opposition United National Party (UNP) will hold its final rally in Wennappuwa in the North Western Province under the patronage of opposition leader Ranil Wickremasinghe.
For all three provinces, 3,785 candidates are contesting the election to elect 142 members to the councils. The voters can cast their ballots at 3,712 polling stations in the three provinces.
The elections for the Central, North Western and Northern provincial councils will be held on Saturday, 21st September.
