Seven killed in separate motor accidents in Nochchiyagama.....

7 individuals died and 24 were injured in 6 separate road accidents that took place in various parts of the island.

An accident was reported from the Nochchiyagama area which claimed the life of a father and daughter.

This accident took place at around 3 this morning at the Andara Wewa junction on the Anuradhapura - Puttalam main road.
According to the police, the accident occurred when a bus plying from Puttalam to Anuradhapura collided with a lorry.

A 32 year old man and his 4 year old daughter who were traveling in the lorry lost their lives.

His wife and an infant who were also traveling in the lorry were admitted to the Nochchiyagama hospital for treatment.

The victims who were residents of Negambo were en route to Kopai.

Meanwhile three individuals including a woman were killed when a motorbike collided with a bus in the Kalawagahaella in Kandalama on the Dambulla-Bakamuna main road.

The accident took place at around 10.30 last night and the police say that all three individuals traveling on the motorbike died in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as 30 year old K.M. Upali Jayasingha, a resident of the Bakamuna area and a father of two and T.G.M Gayan Madusanka who was also a resident of Bakamuna.

Sewandi Sadamali from Dambulla who lost her life in the accident was a mother of two.

Another accident was reported from Palwehera on the Dambulla-Habarana main road when a bus plying from Attanakandiya to Colombo veered off the road and fell into a precipice.

An individual died as a result of the accident and 16 others were admitted to the Dambulla Hospital.

Meanwhile an individual lost his life when a motorbike collided with a lorry this morning in the lbbankatuwa area on the Dambulla Galewela Main road.

The individual was identified as Dayaratne Banda, a retired army officer who was a resident of Shanthipura , Pollonaruwa.

A van that was traveling from Colombo to Batticaloa fell into a precipice in Dambulla.

According to our correspondent three individuals suffered injuries from the accident and have been admitted to hospital.

Three individuals were admitted to the Chilaw hospital after a cab belonging to the North Western Province Ministry of Fisheries collided with a three wheeler when it was entering the main road from the ministry premises.
